Welcome

By Harry Hopkins, Webmaster

Hi Neighbors! Welcome to the Lake Forest Community Association web site. Having been freshly elected to the community board of directors, I was looking for a way to make an impact in an area where I have something to contribute, so I suggested that this web page would be a helpful resource for the community.

Why a web site? Well, a straw poll of the neighborhood suggests that over half of us have access to the world wide web, either through AOL or Erols at home or at work. So, this was a faster and more convenient means for getting information out to the members of the community than a paper newsletter. The periodic paper newsletter will not be going away, but you will have access to this site any time you want and not have to remember where you put the paper newsletter. ("It's posted on the refrigerator, right Honey?")

Conveniently posted at the top of this page you will find the complete list of board members. These folks are the people you have elected to represent you and spend the money you pay as community association dues. How are we doing?

Also at the top of the page is a photograph of a featured community project and a list of important dates and reminders.

Check out the MENU at the left for the useful tools you can always reach through this site. The Contractor Listing (my favorite) is where you can add your information about good and bad contractors who have worked for you. Help your fellow community members by suggesting good contractors and warning against others.

Finally, if you would like to join the community discussion group and get notices about the community via email directly to your account, be sure to enter your subscription by clicking on the link at the lower left.

Let me know if there is anything else you would like posted here. I want to make this web site as useful to you as possible. And, if you have an article you'd like published for all to see, please send it to me at harry@fandata.com
