Community president Steve Gilbert called the meeting to order at 7:43pm in his home at 7602 Maritime Lane.
Minutes from January 20, 2000 were approved as written.
Treasurer’s Report
- Dues letter will be mailed Friday, February 11, 2000. Dues are due NLT March 15, 2000.
- All accounts were transferred to an investor’s account in order to ease accounting and gain an higher interest rate. Cost of this account is $85 per year.
- CD comes due in April. Board made decision to reinvest into another CD. Gene will search for best rate.
Boats and Trailers
- Board reviewed/discussed the content/format of the draft letter to be mailed to 9710 Cervantes Lane and 9019 Paloma. Discussion centered on whether the letter should be a "form" or personalized letter.
- Board agreed that the letter should be specific and personalized.
- John Bevis talked to Jerry Blankenship of 9710 Cervantes Lane. Mr. Blankenship’s plans are to move or sell the boat.
- John Bevis also pointed out that since we live on public streets in the community, we must abide by public law as we try to enforce trailer and boat parking rules.
Other items
- Harry Hopkins encourages use of community web site. Submit suggestions on content to him.
- John Bevis discussed the master plan for the Lorton prison.
- Board discussed the community draft newsletter. It was approved with modifications (spelling and grammar).
Next meeting is March 9, 2000 at Phil Berne’s house.
