MINUTES FOR THE LAKE
FOREST COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
BOARD MEETING
Jan 9, 2003
Meeting
opened at 7:40 p.m.
Present: Bev
Franklin, Steve Gilbert, Evelyn Hempstead, Jim Evans, and Wes Cox.
Old Business
Evelyn
reported some billing irregularities with our groundskeeper, Mark.
Bills are not current, and he’s made some errors in past bills that he is slow
to correct. Evelyn is monitoring the situation.
Steve
reported that mailing addresses need to be updated for Lots #498, #522, and
#689. Mailings to these three lots are coming back to Steve from the post
office.
Minutes from
last month are not yet complete, and will be approved electronically later this
month.
Treasurer’s Report
Several
bills need to be received to close out the CY02 books.
Wachovia had
been sending statements to Gene Cole’s address, so several statements were late
in being received. They faxed two old statements. December’s
statement has not yet been received. Wes is monitoring and working with
Wachovia. The mailing address has now been updated to the 9010 Octavia
Court address. Wes also has the $25 bill from the County for our
Homeowners’ Association license fees. Bills will be sent out soon
for this year’s dues.
New Business
We received
notification from Nationwide Insurance, our community insurance company, that
they are providing a no cost rider on our policy to cover damage from acts of
terrorism, at no additional premium.
Harry
advised Evelyn that bushes of a residence on Lot #525 are blocking a sidewalk,
and that the asphalt is breaking up on a section of a trail coming off the end
of Modisto Lane; both discrepancies were reported to Harry by a concerned
resident. We don’t anticipate making any more trail repairs this
year. We expect to publish a newsletter later this spring in which we
will remind residents to keep sidewalks and paths clear of overgrowth.
The winners
of the Holiday 2002 Decorating Contest have been posted to the LFCA Web site.
Meeting
adjourned at 8:20 pm.
Next meeting
will be at 7:30 pm Thursday, 13 Feb at Evelyn’s.
