Minutes for the Lake Forest
Community Association
Board Meeting
July 10, 2003
The Lake Forest Community Association Board of Directors met
at Bev’s home at 7:30 pm on 10 July 2003.
Meeting came to order at 7:35 pm. In attendance were Wes
Cox, Tom Quigley, Bev Franklin, Evelyn Hempstead, and Jim Evans.
Bev acknowledged the relatively good attendance at June’s
General meeting.
Wes advised that our CDs were renewed in various terms and
sizes. A $5,000 CD was purchased for 1
year at 0.9%, a $5,000 CD was purchased for two years at 1.09%, and two 7 year
CDs at 3.08% were purchased for $10,000 and about $18,000.
We still have 7 or 8 delinquent dues payers that Wes is
pursuing with follow up letters. We are
on budget this year.
Tom has engaged Mr. Meeker to remove a tree off of Bertito
Lane located on community property.
Cost will be $300.
Evelyn reports great success with our new landscaper. They are following directions very well and
offering excellent suggestions. One or
two bushes at the Modisto entrance are dead or dying, and Mark (our old
landscaper) will replace at least one at no cost. John C. Flood submitted the lowest bid for installing the water faucets at our three entrances for
a cost of $3800. Evelyn will have that
work completed once the water installation is complete. Evelyn also asked that any extra landscaping
funds left over from this year be carried over to next year in order to fund
the construction of a rock wall at Cervantes.
Bev made a motion to approve Evelyn’s request. The motion was seconded, and it carried unanimously. Evelyn reported a dead tree in the back yard
of the house directly behind the Maritime Lane entrance. The home is vacant – Tom will check it out
for appropriate action.
We deferred any discussion on Community Day until next month
since Steve was not able to attend tonight’s meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm. Next meeting will be on 14 August at 7:30. Bev is hosting again.
