MINUTES
FOR THE LAKE FOREST COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
BOARD
MEETING (Special Post Isabel Storm meeting)
September
23, 2003
Meeting opened at 8:10 p.m.
Present: Bev Franklin, Steve Gilbert, Jim Evans, Harry Hopkins,
Evelyn Hempstead, and Dave Wilson.
The issue tonight is to discuss community association reaction to
all the fallen trees in the community as a result of the Tropical Storm Isabel.
The Rodriquez home on Lot 520 was damaged due to a limb that broke
off a tree located on community property.
The Association will pay for the removal of the fallen limb, and assess
the remaining damaged tree to determine if it needs to be removed. (Note:
This paragraph will be reviewed per discussion at the 9 Oct ’03 meeting.)
There
are several other fallen trees from community property that are blocking paths
in various locations. The Association
plans to pay for the removal of these trees to clear the paths. The trees will be cut up and left on site
for residents to take. Bev and Dave are
meeting Mr. Tomlin tomorrow morning to review the inventory of trees that need
to be removed from Community paths. Bev
made a motion that the Board approve the expenditure of funds to remove these
trees if Mr. Tomlin’s estimate is fair and reasonable. Jim seconded her motion.
The Association recognizes that trees located on community
property and which have sustained storm damage, are the responsibility of the
association for removal. The
Association does not claim liability for damage to any homes that may result
from fallen healthy trees or limbs located on community property as a result of
storm winds. (Note: This paragraph will
also be reviewed per discussion at the 9 Oct ’03 meeting.)
The next Board meeting will be held at Bev’s on Thursday 9 Oct at
7:30 pm
