Minutes for the Lake Forest Community Association

Board Meeting

October 14, 2004

The Lake Forest Community Association Board of Directors met at Bev’s home at 7:30 pm on October 14, 2004.

Bev called the meeting to order at 7:55 p.m.  In attendance were Bev Franklin, Wes Cox, Jim Evans, Harry Hopkins, Dave Wilson, Evelyn Hempstead, and Gloria Flick.

The minutes from September were reviewed and approved.

Dave suggested a spring Community Day, perhaps in a different area of the community.  That will be discussed at a later meeting, during the Spring.

There will be a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, 23 October.  A notice has been posted on the Community Web site and Bev will contact Sally to have her update the entrance signs with a notice.

Wes reports no issues with the treasury.  The insurance bill came in at the new negotiated rate.  Latest closing balance in the checking account is about $22, 184.  However, there is still one delinquent homeowner regarding dues payment, and the overdue assessment of $5 per month will be enforced.

Evelyn suggests we address trail maintenance.  Although it is too late to do any trail maintenance this fall, it is an issue to address as spring approaches.  Evelyn also reports she bought some annuals and perennials for the entranceways, and planted those herself to save landscaper labor.

As requested in previous recent meetings, Evelyn reported that since 1997, about $4500 has been spent on maintenance and repair of the three entrance signs, plus about $8000 for installation of the water at all three entrances, and about $1000 for improvements at the Modisto entrance.  These expenditures do not include funds spent for landscaping or grounds maintenance at the entrances.

Next meeting is 14 November, 7:30 p.m. at Bev’s.  Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
