Board Meeting

17 February 2005

This month’s meeting convened at the home of Bev Frankllin at 7:40 p.m. Members present: Bill Ethington, Beverly Franklin, Wes Cox, Evelyn Hempstead, Harry Hopkins, Dave Wilson, Jim Evans, and Gloria Flick. Steve Gilbert was absent.

Draft minutes from January ’05 were approved as written.

The draft dues letter was discussed and minor changes were made. We selected Sun 1 May for the next Community Day, with a rain date of 8 May. Our next community yard sale will be Saturday 21 May. The annual meeting will be Thurs 16 June at Pohick Library. The fall Community Day is Sun 18 September, with a rain date of 25 September. The fall community yard sale will be Sat 15 October. And the Holiday decorating contest will be during the week of 19 December. Wes plans to smooth up the letter and mail it to the Community this month. The new dues are $75 – an increase of $20 over last year.

Evelyn reports that Verizon’s contractors have been using the Community water at the entrances. Hoses have been cut, and locks have been removed from the faucets. Evelyn called the contractors and has been reassured they will reimburse the community for costs associated with the missing hoses, locks and water usage. Evelyn will also document these issues in a letter to the contractors so there is a paper record.

Details of the new Architectural Review Committee will be discussed at next month’s meeting.

Next meeting will be at Bev’s on 10 March. Plans for the Yard Sale and Community Day, as well as the ARC will be discussed at this meeting.
